THIS ISSUE’S MOTTO: I don’t want to overthrow the government. I want to ignore it. The former grants government a legitimacy it hasn’t earned. — Sam Hall

THE WEEKLY CARTOON: We’re going to learn division today: critical race theory.

    A Request for Help

Our longtime friend of the Libertarian Enterprise has been released from jail after selling his car to post bond. He would prefer to retain a lawyer rather than depend on the tender mercies of a public defender. He has identified a lawyer he would like to retain, who wants $5,000 as an initial retainer. Costs are estimated as follows:

$5,000 for basic discovery, pleading, etc.
3,000 for motions, including to suppress evidence
5,000 for trial should any charges proceed to trial

Our friend maintains his innocence with respect to the charges, and while the Libertarian Enterprise will not comment on the particulars of the situation, we do believe that everyone is owed a fair trial and the ability to retain a lawyer, with whom one is able to communicate in confidentiality. To that end, we have set up a GiveSendGo page, and our friend, and we, would be extremely grateful for any help our readers would be able to kindly provide.

    https://givesendgo.com/G3DA3

Donations will show up as “Rule of Law,” and will be directed to an account in Cathy’s name which will then be provided to the chosen counsel.

    Thank you

    Yours in Liberty,

    Rylla and Cathy Smith

If those in the Legislature who want to shut down New Mexico’s petrochemical industry (despite the cash from it they use for their “free everything for everyone” schemes) because they don’t like carbon dioxide (plants seem to love the stuff, they use it for photosynthesis, and thus they need it to stay alive, but they don’t get to vote (yet)), they can lead by example and quit exhaling the stuff.

I have plenty of plastic bags for these legislators to put over their heads and pull tight in this endeavour.

Here’s what I sent via their crappy web form to both the advertising department and to station management:

    To whom it may concern:

I was recently notified of KOB’s plans to host a gubernatorial debate between Michelle Lujan Grisham and Mark Ronchetti.

    https://facebook.com/KOBTV/posts/pfbid02wKWcweDMHNudcwkNbveTzrgb1JJSWtzexe1phb2cgWTzfsD9nyrHKsqU1RfgLsiNl

    https://bit.ly/3BymTCE

My question is ths: Why was Karen Bedonie excluded from this debate?

Is it KOB’s intent to discriminate against Bedonie because she’s Navajo, not Caucasian or Hispanic?

What do Grisham or Ronchetti offer New Mexicans that Bedonie becomes irrelevant?

Even if Bedonie only gets 5% of the vote, about 1,000,000 to 1,200,000 people vote in the gubernatorial race. So that’s 60,000 potential viewers who might not bother doing business with KOB’s advertisers.

[LPNM] Letter to KOB 4 About Karen Bedonie Being Excluded from the 30 September Gubernatorial Debate

Recently, I was notified about the decision of KOB 4 to host a gubernatorial debate on Friday, 30 September — Lujan Grisham, Ronchetti set to debate Sept. 30 on KOB 4

Here’s what I sent via the web form to both the advertising department and to station management —
