My late FIL would have said our governor barks and chases cars. He lived in a much more direct, less politically correct time.

I read this article with disbelief. Michelle Wuhan Grisham has threatened to remove mayors from office if they do not follow her public health order. She does not have the power to do that, so the threat must be that she is going to work against their reelections. That will go over like a lead balloon. Her nagging, lecturing, and admonishing New Mexicans as if our concerns for our livelihoods are childish and unimportant next to her political ambitions has already lost her a great deal of respect among New Mexicans. An emergency does not erase the Bill of Rights. Nor does it empower governors to take away our businesses without compensation. In fact, a government official cannot take our property without just compensation. That’s in the bill of rights.

Perhaps MWG does not understand what a governor is. A governor is a piece in a machine that controls the pace of its working. For example, a timing belt in an automobile. It must work with the other machine parts to ensure a smooth ride. When a governor goes full tyrant, it can tear the machine apart, destroying its function. To protect the machine, the owners must remove the faulty governor and replace it with one that works in harmony with other parts of the machine. This is what we need to do in New Mexico. And the sooner the better.

The purpose of government is not to make us safe. That is our job. The purpose of government is to keep us free. Adults do not need lectures from a governor who has assumed the role of dictator, and treats her bosses as if they were her recalcitrant children.

We need a revolution. Look to your sheriffs to protect your rights, New Mexico. And tell your county officials what you expect them to do in the face of MWG’s temperamental tyranny. Stand for your rights.

“so if the state robs and steals from you, is it ok to liberate the same value of the theft from any government property available for the taking.”

If you dress yourself up such that the federal gunslinger types mistake you as one of their own, sign out an M240 LMG or MP-5 SMG from their arms room, then walk it out to your car and disappear it into your rainy decade stash, more power to you.

Helping the “anti-fascist” Antithugs burn down buildings? Not so much — you’re on your own there, as far as I’m concerned.

For the record, Heinlein wasn’t fond of labels. He preferred to deal with people as individuals, and to be addressed as an individual, if I recall correctly.

I don’t worry too much about what to call myself, or what others call me.

I’ve been called a “Nazi,” a “Communist,” a “faggot,” and a “homophobe” at various points in my life.

I do reserve the right to have fun with such labels, sneers, slander, and libel.

    My prediction?

Coming to Central Ave between 10th St and Louisiana, at least. Also UNM between Central and the SUB, and around the SUB. Maybe some action at other spots.

NONE of it will be “sustainable” like the CHAZ / CHOP / CHAZOP goofballs in Seattle — if it lasts for more than a week, I’ll be surprised.

Position: David Brin claims that the political “left” “CONTAINS” a few whackjobs, while the political “right” “CONSISTS” of nothing but whackjobs. Thus, whenever Brin claims to be seeking “common ground” with those holding opposing viewpoints, he’s not being sincere, and should not be taken seriously.

In the case of the Paine quote, the Antifarts have the same duty to libertarians as libertarians have to them. Not only are they not up for the job in terms of tactical proficiency, they have no interest in reciprocity as such, so the Antifarts can go self-fornicate, for all I care.

“I want to eliminate the gun, you just want to point it at someone else.”

For those not in the know —

Here “the gun” is symbolic for initiated force upon individuals by governments.

The actual, physical firearms, and the associated ammo and accessories (suppressors, cleaning kits, scopes, bags, magazines, holsters, spotting scopes, etc.) should be handed off to private-sector civilians as soon as possible.

When will YOU grab your rifle, sidearm, ammo and gear and hit the streets in search of the offending federal agents?
