Add “Terminator without the budget” to the original post and your review of the movie will be spot on.

I saw it back around 1993 or 1994, when VHS rentals were still a thing, and probably have a digital copy saved on one of my hard drives.

Put your phone into one of those anti-static bags that come with hard drives, and / or take the battery out.

If you need a Faraday cage sturdier than the anti-static bag, wrap your phone in polyurethane foam, then put it inside an ammo can.

Ed Nagel once called for the “Round Tax” of zero (0) percent when he ran for New Mexico’s 3rd Congressional district back in the mid-1990s.

And L. Neil Smith’s tax plan was “Pay As You Like.” Again, 100 % voluntary, with no criminal or civil penalty for non-payment.

IF we absolutely, positively HAVE to have a national taxation scheme, the rate should be in the single digits, not this 23-30 percent nonsense that the “Fair Tax” calls for. The 23-30 percent is so its proponents can say that it’s “revenue neutral,” which is a Political Classhole code phrase for “We won’t actually have to cut spending, but let’s keep the proles thinking that we will.”

The frequency involved isn’t the important part of this equation. A cell phone’s power output is usually around 0.75 watt to 1 watt. Microwave ovens are somewhere between 700 to 1300 watts.

If your cell phone could put out 700-1300 W, you could send a signal to the Moon, if not Mars. If your microwave put out 0.75-1 W, it would take a few hours at the least to boil a cup of water.

Back in 2013, one of the problems in my Intro to Biophotonics class was about the “cell phones cause cancer” scare. We figured out that it would take 64,413 cell phones around your head, all of them active, to actually cause any RF-induced damage.

8-9 eV is in the ultraviolet range, almost X-rays. Low-power RF (both cell phones and WiFi are in this category) isn’t even in the same league, much less ballpark. UV and X radiation CAN mess you up.

Most of us seem to be of the “what’s mine is mine, what’s yours is yours” mindset.

Most of the social justice wankers, on the other hand, seem to be of the “what’s mine is mine, what’s yours is negotiable (and ultimately mine)” mindset.

As far as I’m concerned, the only rational response to “check your privilege” is “sue me for damages.”

When these cretins invade your con suite or conference room and declare it to be their “safe space,” the best response is “NO, this is MY ‘safe space,’ as I’m the one who reserved the room. YOUR ‘safe space’ is your house, apartment, or whatever.”
