I’ll admit to being surprised by The Orville (I’ve never been any fan of Seth McFarlane — I can’t stand Family Guy and American Dad). The Orville is looking like a keeper.
And I’ve been seeing clips on YouTube about internal problems in Trekworld over such things as intellectual property rights, who owns what, etc.
Still, it seems that the purpose of a show’s first season is to introduce the characters and background universe, and to set the tone for the rest of the series (assuming that there is a rest of the series).

After they get “all” of the blades, the surrender bins will be relabeled for blunt objects.
“Don’t be a dick — drop your brick!”
Of course, their current slogan of “Only cowards carry” seems to be generically applicable, so they’ll probably keep that one.
