Today’s Albuquerque Journal, fresh from the driveway, has the following in the “Speak Up!” section of the Op-Ed page (A13) —
BACKGROUND CHECKS can help reduce mass shootings if they are combined with other strong measures. Close the loopholes and make purchases that are now legal, illegal. MY
If that doesn’t sum up the hoplophobe and victim disarmer mindset, I don’t know what does.
This is why I am not fond of the phrase “law-abiding” when used by right-to-own-and-carry-weapons advocates in relation to gun owners. The openly-stated intent of the victim disarmers is to make it more difficult and more expensive to own any sort of firearm in a legal manner.
Y’all do realize that calling yourself a “law-abiding” gun owner while simultaneously sporting any “I WILL NOT COMPLY” graphics or signage is idiocy. For the very essence of “law-abiding” is compliance with every little asinine, ridiculous, burdensome edict put out by the Political Classholes?!

So according to New Mexico’s poster boy for public-sector nepotism, T.rump is committing the unforgivable sin of “directly overruling federal prosecutors.”
Ben Ray seems to have forgotten that those prosecutors take orders from the U.S. Attorneys.
Those U.S. Attorneys, in turn, take orders from the Attorney General, who takes his orders from . . . T.rump.
So Ben Ray not only doesn’t seem to understand this concept called chain of command, but he’s got it all backwards.
As for Roger Stone, I’ve heard from other sources that he’s an absolute cretin. Which seems to be the rule rather than the exception where the District of Criminals is concerned.
And there’s no shortage of corruption in Ben Ray’s camp — if Clintons aren’t the walking, talking embodiment of graft and office-selling, I’m not sure who is.

If the sheriffs who are opposed to the red-flag victim disarmament bill need to resign for refusing to enforce it, then those public officials who sponsored it, pushed it through the Roundhouse, signed it, or otherwise supported in the first place should resign for their blatant and willful disregard and violation of Article II, Sections 6 and 18 of the State Constitution.
What part of Article XX, Section 1 allows them to blow off parts of the State Constitution for which they don’t personally care?

At this point, Chafee is close enough for my taste on the “L”P side of things.
