It doesn’t matter who the Democrat nominee is, chances are close to 100% that the person in question won’t be deserving of my vote.

If the Republican or Libertarian nominee is equally undeserving, then I will be voting for Dumpster Fire.

Whatever money Trump spent on settling claims against him, it was his own money.

Meanwhile, Padilla cost Albuquerque taxpayers 250k in settlements and legal fees.

    To sum up:

Padilla -250,000 (that we know of)
    Trump 0.00

Padilla should walk door to door within his district, by himself, knocking on doors, asking Albuquerque residents for donations to cover that 250k, until it’s paid off.

All Padilla needs to do is change his partisan affiliation to Republican so Wirth, Egolf et al can righteously dogpile upon Padilla without hesitation.

“I have a problem with this. The issue was a decade ago and in time for settled.”

So you don’t have any problems with Trump’s behavior from 2005 then?

“Do we toss out advocates who do good work forever?”

Padilla never was a good advocate for much, in my opinion. Still, standards where politics and politicians are concerned seem to be subjective and arbitrary (aesthetics certainly are), your mileage may vary, etc.
