1. Went to the Milo Yiannopoulos event at the UNM SUB
   1. See also Speak out to MILO and YAL at UNM and Shut Down Milo Yianoppoulos UNM — ¡No Pasaràn!
   2. There were probably 50 NM State Police officers in and around the event, as well as UNMPD and Securitas officers.
   3. Attendees were wanded before being allowed into the SUB. Attendees were not permitted to bring in backpacks.
   4. The food court was shut down entirely.
   5. After the event and Milo was escorted off the stage and out of the ballroom through the back door, UNMPD and NMSP held the attendees in the ballroom for about 15-20 minutes because of the PSL / Antifa / ANSWER fascists in the area around the SUB.

   Why can’t the Artiste types get behind making NPR, PBS, the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities into 501-c-3 type non-profit organizations, cutting the new non-profits off from the stream of tax funding, and prohibiting those non-profits from seeking funds or favors from government in the future?

   That way, they can create as many “Piss Christ” pieces or Mapplethorpe exhibits as they want, and the people who object to that sort of stuff won’t be forced to pay for them. Thus whatever opposition to such exhibits will wither away in short order, and everyone can get back to minding their own business.

   I posted this in another thread where a bunch of Sensitive Artistes are having a come apart that the sacred National Endowment for the Arts might get defunded. The comments were full of IT DOESN’T COST MUCH or WHAT DO RETHUGLICANS KNOW ABOUT ART? (More than you, dumbass)

   Here’s the thing, you artsy fartsy crybabies having a freak out . . . If you get good enough that your art actually moves people, then you’ll be able to sell it. If you get to where people actually really like it, you can even make a living at it (like me).

   Until then, nobody owes you shit. Tax payers don’t owe you shit. I don’t owe you shit. It only took ten cents from my taxes? So what? That’s ten cents that could have went for something better than propping up your no-talent ass.

   You want to get paid? Then get good, scrub.

   OH BUT YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND THE PAIN OF BEING AN ARTIST! Bitch please, I’m a New York Times bestselling novelist now, but while I wrote like my first seven novels I still had a day job. You know, like every other tax paying jackass you expect to subsidize your good time.

   And the last time I looked the Constitution didn’t have anything in it about paying for you to live your dream. You have the opportunity to do so, but the rest of us are under no obligation to foot the bill.

   I’ve worked with artists in books, comics, TV, movies, and video games. I’ve hired and paid for artists to produce product for me. (and get over yourself, it is just a product). All of the actual working creators will continue to get by without the NEA, because they have developed valuable skills in entertaining or moving people, and aren’t just dilettantes playing at art.
